On Saturday June 27th Primal's Tim Radcliffe put
on a career best performance to outclass top ranked UK Lightweight Abdul
Mohamed and advance to to finals of the new British Association of Mixed
Martial Arts show BAMMA.
In a contest many predicted would be won by Mohamed’s superior wrestling
pedigree, Tim proved too strong in all departments to take the well deserved
unanimous decision and advance to the final to face London Shootfighters
Francis Heagany. During the fight Tim controlled the stand up action with some
crisp Muay Thai low kicks, and opened a nasty cut on the bridge of Mohamed's
nose in the opening round with a classy right jab straight left combination.
During the contest Mohamed repeatedly tried to close the distance and shoot in
for the takedown, but Radcliffe simply brushed each attempt aside and kept the
fight standing. Known primarily for his slick BJJ ground game, the Nova Forca
trained fighter showed he is just as dangerous standing and has surely sent a
message out to his other UK Lightweight rivals that he is prepared to
stand as well as take things to the floor
